Hair Extension Care Instructions

WASHING AND STYLING

  • Brush your hair before washing.  Use wide-toothed comb, boar bristle, or paddle brush starting at the ends and working your way up.

  • Cleanse extension hair with recommended shampoo no more than twice a week using warm or cool water.

  • Apply recommended conditioner and let sit for 5-10 minutes.

  • Rinse and apply a leave-in conditioner.  Bb Hairdressers Invisible Oil Primer is recommended, it has heat protection up to 450 degrees.

  • DO NOT rub conditioner into the braids. This will soften the braid causing them to slide.

  • Use Bb Tonic Spray, which is a moisturizing antiseptic and will not cause slippage, directly into the braids.

  • Towel dry, and immediately brush out with a paddle or wet brush.

  • Section hair and use a fine-tooth comb to detail the root area.  Failure to section and brush out thoroughly can lead to matting.

  • Never let hair dry without combing thoroughly.

  • Air dry to get most of moisture out of hair, you can continue to air dry or finish with a blow-dryer.

  • You may use irons on your extension hair, heat protector is recommended.  This will help you keep your hair looking shiny and healthy.

  • In windy conditions (boats, motorcycles, biking, etc....) always tie hair back to avoid tangling, remember braids work great!!

Salon Products are highly recommended. Store bought are high in detergents and alcohol,

which are very drying and will shorten the life of your extension hair.

SLEEPING

  • Never sleep with wet hair! Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed.

  • Gently tie or braid to prevent tangling.

  • Silk or satin pillow cases are recommended.

MAINTENANCE

  • The use of any dye, toner, bleach, perm, keratin or straightening solutions is not recommended.

  • Keep hair pulled back in a low ponytail during sports and water activities.

  • Before entering the pool or ocean immerse your hair in fresh water, it is less likely to fill with salt or chlorine which can dry out hair.

  • After getting out of the water spray leave-in conditioner

  • Brush out immediately afterwards with a paddle or wet brush.  Use a fine-tooth comb to detail the root area.

  • Never let hair dry without combing thoroughly.
